USA ESPORTS
USA Esports is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) public charity established to serve as an independent, sustainable national body for esports in the United States. Our mission is to support esports athletes in achieving sustained competitive excellence in domestic and international competition, to promote esports in the United States, and to foster a safe, positive environment for athletes, members, and fans.
Under one banner
unifying a fragmented ecosystem
The United States boasts one of the world’s most developed esports markets, yet it lacks a unified, representative body spanning all levels of competition. Many other countries have established national bodies for esports, recognized by their respective governments. Led by a broad coalition of stakeholders including leading professional teams, university presidents and chancellors, tier 1 athletes, and K–12 organizations, USA Esports will work to unite the full pipeline from K–12 through collegiate and professional levels under a shared framework.

The USOPC (formed pursuant to the Ted Stevens Olympic and Amateur Sports Act) certifies national governing bodies in the U.S. While the requirements to achieve such recognition and to pass periodic audits requires a robust compliance and governance structure, we believe that rigorous standards and accountability for conflicts of interest, player safety, player involvement in policy making and governance, participation and collaboration, dispute resolution, and other similar matters will help to ensure that USA Esports remains an independent and trusted organization that serves the public interest by advancing esports in the U.S.
OUR MISSION
athlete-centered governance
As part of its mission, USA Esports will develop standards regarding participant safety and competitive integrity, organize and sanction events that comply with these standards, coordinate k-12 and collegiate initiatives, and select and manage U.S. national teams for international competition. Every aspect of USA Esports must involve athletes who have competed at the highest levels. At least one-third of our board of directors and major committees will be composed of esports athletes, who will help shape everything from national team selection, athlete safety, ethics and conflicts of interest, finance, and strategic direction.

USA Esports represents a long-term commitment to building a system that will support esports athletes and the broader community across all levels. Our goal is to unify the existing ecosystem under a neutral representative banner to provide support the U.S. esports community deserves.

Athletes First: Why Athlete Involvement in Governance Is Critical
Every standing committee within USA Esports, from Finance and Audit, to Athlete Selection and High Performance, to Ethics, SafeSport, and Nominating and Elections, is required to have at least one-third athlete representation.
